Resentment Ride High

A couple of weeks ago I read a book called Britte Marie was here, by Fredrick Backman.

I've read a few of Fredrick Backman's before - Bear Town, Us Against you,  and A Man Named Ove (I mentioned him before).

When I finished Britte Marie I put the book down and burst into tears.  I could feel it building as I read it, but the relief of it spilling over was immense.

I was just rooting for her.  Rooting and Rooting and the build up was intense.

I've been reading Anxious People for about a week and a bit now.  8 days.   It's not an anixious book, it's quite funny - i laughed out loud a lot of the time through it.

I finished it last night.  Put it down, and burst into tears again.

It all came together so well in the end.   I loved it.

And even more exciting.

As I sat down here to write this, I suddenly remembered reading on Good Reads this morning that it had been made into a TV Series in Sweden.

I shouted over to himself... and he searched, and he found it.

I've just watched five minutes, and the characters I've been living with for the last week, have all just come to life.  Roger and Anne-Lena were as expected.  Jack not at all.  Jim - Yes.  Slightly more hair.  Julia and Ro - was not expecting that.   Zara - she isn't old enough.

I knew exactly who she was, because of something she was holding, and as soon as I saw it. I burst into tears again. No point in trying to explain it to Himself. He's just looking me and thinking "she is still weird".

That is going to be my secret treat.  I'm going to be watching that and howling all the way through
