Month 2 5th Day = 25th = Christmas Day

Well it might be six weeks late, but we finally had our Christmas Day!!!

We missed DiL & the little granddaughters, but the rest of us were there, hub was definitely there in spirit! Even when we raised a glass to him we managed to hold back the tears, none were shed, we all allowed ourselves to enjoy the day, lots of food & drink….. fun, laughter, Trivial Pursuit, Sussed, Secret Santa, maximum spend £1…there were some cool gifts :-) everyone was happy!

Middle son left after 8 with the two eldest girls, Em went upstairs with her phone once her cousins left, they had all enjoyed themselves, P had a glass of prosecco with her dinner……she will be 17 on her next birthday, cant believe it ;-0

D nextdoor came to pick me & youngest up around 9, daughter persuaded him to come in for a few minutes, he gave her a big hug….D is very similar to hub in stature, so it feels a little familiar and offers a certain amount of comfort when he hugs you, plus daughter had had a fair amount of wine lol so clung on a bit longer than usual lol D found it all very amusing :-))

Once we were back at mine, me & youngest decided to watch a film and have a couple more drinks, we polished off 3/4s of a bottle of Bushmills, over 4 hours, a nod to hub, he always had a couple of whiskies at Christmas, it was 02.20am when I climbed into bed lol

Todays blip is evidence of us surviving and even enjoying our first Christmas Day without hub, think he would have been proud of us!
