Jack Rabbit

I needed to complete just an hours activity before midnight today in order to reach the Strava “January Activity Challenge” goal. Didn’t particularly feel like going to the gym, so decided to walk down to Morrisons. It’s about 5K from our house so should take me about an hour. As it happened, I arrived at the store after covering 4.88K in 58 minutes, so not quite there! One (slow) circuit of the car park later and the figures stood at 5K in 1 hr 5 minutes. That’ll do nicely, so called Mrs C to come and pick me up and went inside to do the shopping.
Fitness achievements this month are 30 hours of activity, 72 kilometres walked and 10K and 5K runs completed. No wonder I’m knackered now! I have a feeling February might not be as active - certainly not this week, anyway!
The rabbit in the picture was hopping around a factory car park, seemingly without a care in the world. I wouldn’t have thought there would be a lot of nutrition to be had amongst the gravel and tarmac, but at least it was safely behind a stout wire fence. Not at all phased by me standing there watching it, the rabbit only ran away when a bike went past at high speed.
A productive morning on the music front as Stuart and I worked out how we (ok, mainly me) play some of the songs that have been suggested for possible inclusion in the set. I just need to keep running through them myself now, in order to get them firmly stuck into my brain.
In spite of it being very windy in the middle of the night, I didn’t see any signs of further storm damage during my walk so it looks like we avoided the worst of Storm Corrie.
It is a bit of a shock to realise that tomorrow is the first day of February and we are already one month of 2022 down. How different to last year, when it seemed like January would never end due to us being stuck in lockdown. What a difference a year (and three shots of vaccine!) makes.
