Give and Take

Mostly cloudy and cold. It was 17 deg F when we got up. High today was 32 deg F and we expect the low tonight to be 27 deg F. I got up in time to make the kids a blueberry muffin (on the right) to go with fruit for the breakfast before Mass. We are celebrating Catholic Schools Week so the students were the readers, cantors and gift bearers. We were happy to be there to see Mack participate. Parker and Jamie were also at Mass and then practiced basketball. We took the Chase and Mack out for brunch, our first time there since COVID. Then we picked up a rotisserie chicken for an easy dinner. We truly enjoyed the kids’ visit; it has been too long since we’ve had grands stay overnight. Jamie brought me the remaining unusual ingredients to make his Keto desserts-the muffins on the left and the uncut orange jello/cream cheese bars. Hubby dropped the baked goods off and received appetizers (bottom photo) for watching the football playoffs; a win win for sure. Kristen brought us a few groceries and took the kids home. Kim and Brooklyn stopped by and enjoyed a few muffins. Jamie brought sides to go with our chicken. I love a day when I see all my children. Just sorry we missed seeing my sister and BIL who brought us gift bags when we were at brunch. Time to prop up our feet and enjoy the end of the weekend. We had 117 new COVID cases, a little less than half of yesterday’s total but that is typical for a Sunday. Thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed the cardinals. They shine in snowy pictures. “Life is a balance between giving and receiving. The more you give, the more abundance will fill your life with joy.” - Debasish Mridha
