Red, Green, and Blue

Le Jardin Publique

It was such a gorgeous day. After a whole week of rain, the weather rebounded and gave us sunshine. I would probably say it was about 70F plus. Since yesterday was Labor Day and everything was closed even public transportation, a couple of friends and I had a little picnic in the park to celebrate my birthday. This was my first time in the Jardin Publique (Public Garden) and it was really nice. There were even ducklings swimming along with their parents in the lake.

My roommate and Cara made me a cake (which they delivered to me in the park). It was a two layered cake with strawberry (or some sort of red jam) filling and on a hardened white frosting, they iced "Joyeux Anniversaire" (happy birthday). Gwynne also made me a birthday banner in the kitchen and Cara gave me two books, a movie quote book and a book on photography, both of course in French.

We spent most of the day in the park. By the time we left, it was already 6pm, but it was still so bright. (Later in the night, the sun set at about 9:20pm.) When I got home, I didn't want to do anything. I planned to continue working on my paper, but that didn't quite happen.
