Safe Harbor
Sunny, high 42 deg F, low expected to be 31 deg F. The ring of my cell phone woke me from a deep sleep. My son’s car battery was dead and Parker needed a ride to school. Hubby was feeling rough so I quickly dressed. I fired up the “taxi” and picked up the boy; we actually got to school on time. Decided to look for a blip while I was out and remembered that some Canada geese winter in a nearby pond. Hubby changed our heating and water filters and smoke alarm batteries. We puttered around until noon and decided to get lunch out and check the grocery store for items previously unavailable. My salad was tasty as was hubby’s quesadilla burger. We found everything but romaine lettuce at the store. Since my earlier shots were dark, we went back to the pond. I think this one is better. I could not get all the geese in one photo and I frightened off the flock of mallards who also live there. There is one unique goose/duck in the crowd. My glasses are so old that I couldn’t see it clearly. I spent the afternoon cleaning up my cell phone and trying to figure out how to remove hubby’s books off my Kindle but not off his at the same time. Maybe tomorrow. Hubby canceled his three appointments and took the rest of the day off. Dinner is cooked so it will be another quiet evening. There were only 134 new COVID cases here in the last 24 hours. A couple older friends in WV tested positive today. I think our local sick folks are better today. Thanks for the visit, stars and sweet comments. I condensed the quote a bit. Advice from a Canada goose: “Travel whenever you can. Fly south to warmer weather. Let the sun, moon and stars guide you to your destination. Take time to lie in the grass, sit by a pond and slow things down in your life. Stretch your wings and fly high. The sky is your limit for pursuing your dreams. Don't get your feathers ruffled over the small stuff. Travel great distances but come back to your roots. When one member is tired, step up to relieve their burden. Always be proud of who you are. Endure life’s ups and downs with a positive outlook.” - AdvicefromWildlife.com/Cafe Press
