Drove over to Ju’s and we drove out to Derbyshire via chesterfield via her favourite coffee shop. Arrived at David Mellors shop (20% sale) and factory with sleet falling which changed to hail and then rain occasionally . None of this was forecast! The plan had been to go for a walk first but we abandoned that idea. Did some shopping ( mainly nice new knives) and then had lunch in their cafe. Blip of the original cutlery machine.
Started to head back , stopping at a gift shop and cafe that Ju remembered. She bought a few things. It had started to snow by then but the roads were very wet and the shop owner assured us that it wouldn’t settle. However we set off up the hill to chesterfield and it was clear she was wrong! The road was busy particularly in the other direction and cars were skidding. Ju was very nervous but managed well in a low gear and we only skidded once. Once we got down the hill again the snow turned back to rain and all was well. I came home via the Popup cafe to collect the meal for tomorrow
