In the forest again

After an indulgent lunch with a friend, Bean and I had a lovely walk in Herbert Forest where the fungi continue to flourish.

I’m astonished about the emptiness of all the local tourism and visitor spots. Campsites are occupied, but hardly busy. Mountain bike tracks are silent and still. Lakesides usually heaving with vehicles this week between Xmas and New Yea, are quiet. It can’t only be the lack of international visitors. I assume Kiwis aren’t travelling either. But why not?
