Pater familias

At least one part of our attempt this year to visit family and celebrate Christmas has been successful. It has been in the balance but we all tested negative this morning so my eldest and family drove over and we enjoyed the day together. We had hoped to go for a walk but it has been mizzling all day. They left with items and mementos out of the house that might otherwise have gone to auction, a long case clock and various other bits and pieces.
