Heading Home
Cloudy, rainy most of our journey. By the time we got close to home, it was clear and 68 deg F. I prefer to pack my coolers in the morning, so we were up at 6:30 am. I took the last bit of liquid items to the basement and noticed the hibiscus bud was finally opening. We have watched it all week. We left the ridge at 7:58, taking a different route than my sister and BIL who left an hour later. They had to disperse the antifreeze throughout the plumbing system for winter. So thankful we packed most of our stuff in the car last night as it was nasty outside this morning. First stop was a market and candy store in MD. Wanted chocolate melts for Kim and Skylar who are getting chocolate covered strawberry molds in their stocking. Produce looked great and cabbage was $.50/lb cheaper there. We went to The Oak Barrel for lunch and then to the baked goods store for a few pies. Was disappointed they did not have the donuts I promised Parker, his favs. Each stop gave hubby a chance to exercise his leg. The rain ended but the clouds continued to be ominous. The light traffic made the drive easier but it still took 9.5 hours. My sister and BIL caught up to us when we were about an hour from home. We decided to go to the pharmacy to see if we could get info on how my mother can get her meds mailed directly to her home. That will be a huge help for her. Our trip has ended but we had such a fine time that we are eager to jump into the Christmas wrapping project tomorrow. Thanks for your visit.
