Between fen and mountains

Hanging on

The next puff of wind will surely see these apples fall.  It has been a busy day today. I took a service in the morning and then in the afternoon, the annual anglo-french Carol service which traditionally is followed by mince pies and mulled wine, much appreciated by the French. Everyone was masked and the pass sanitaire checked. The mince pies and pies had to be served outside due to the health restrictions in force and it was bitterly cold by the late afternoon. At least the wine was warming. The service went well. People are getting used to lay led services and that will be the future according to the powers that be.  We are unlikely to get another chaplain.
