St Paul’s
We are in London for a few days staying right next to St Paul’s Cathedral.
All the snow was gone this morning and it’s been a much warmer day so no travel problems. I’m pleased that mask wearing has become mandatory again on transport. There were a few people not wearing them on Leeds Station but I didn’t see any without them on the train though it was very quiet. (I had to smile as the timetable board said ‘seat reservation is highly recommended!’) I only saw one person without on the tube so all good as far as I’m concerned.
We checked in and grabbed a cuppa before heading out for a little walk. Crossing Millennium Bridge and looking back, as seen here, just as it was falling dark, the lights on the buildings looked lovely reflected in the Thames. There was one building (far left in the extra) in the City displaying a Saltire for St Andrew’s Day, I’m pretty sure it is the same building that was displaying a poppy when we came two years ago.
We walked along the South Bank and then crossed Blackfriars Bridge to return to St Paul’s and a pre dinner drink in our hotel.
Happy St Andrew’s Day to all you Scots out there.
