The Birds

All over the lake gulls were circling making for quite a spectacle. I tried to set them against the setting sun so they would stand out a little better, but they are still quite small in the image. Also, in that direction I had to shoot through the willow branches, which I rendered out of focus to reduce their distraction.

In the past when I have seen the gulls gathering, it has occurred as the lake begins to freeze.
