Countdown started
Today was the day of our long planned local area Christmas Market. There were stalls in the church hall, the grounds and in gardens around the local area - with a map to guide you. Most of the stalls were those of local residents who make things. Ranging from beer to silver jewellery, from dog bandanas to Christmas decorations. There were also lots of food stalls dotted around. The local primary school had a stall as did the Brownies, various playgroups and the Scouts. In one of the grassy areas in the streets nearby there was a performance space, local dance groups and other children performed there. There was a community cafe.
It never felt crowded, in the hall everyone was wearing masks and most of those at the stalls around the grounds were too. Track and trace details were taken from those indoors. The whole event was very happy and friendly, it felt like a real community event. I was sorry to miss Blipper Flumgummery who paid a visit.
I bought a beautiful Christmas wreath from a local florist, just have to find some string to hang it now!
My blip is of a quiet moment in the hall just before the doors opened. We had over 200 folks pop in to have a look at our church which was open for the duration.
I'm so glad that we were able to have a community event in spite of all the restrictions, it's so good to see people out and about. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather too after the storms of yesterday.
Stay safe folks, it felt good to see everyone taking care of others by mask wearing.
