Galápagos Greater Flamingo
A visit to Floreana Island to see if we could find any flamingos in the lagoon there. And we did! Only three of them, but that was way better than nothing. But right after landing on the island and getting out of the zodiacs we found a Galápagos green sea turtle (or Pacific green sea turtle) still on the beach busy covering up the eggs she just laid. And then we were treated to her making her way back down the beach to the water! Usually they lay their eggs at night and are gone before daybreak, but this lady was late. We were so excited!! So the shots of that are in the extras (the last shot is of her tracks as she hauled herself back to the water. She was HUGE.
And finally, the last extra, probably the closest I've ever been to a brown pelican. Two of them were fishing for something right at the edge of the water.
