Altrincham trip day 1

A yomp up the M8 towards Dublin. This is the most incredibly civilised motorway where you can zoom up unimpeded. We stopped off at Cashel for lunch and a swop of drivers.  The Rock of Cashel is like England's Glastonbury Tor, it rises above the plains and can be seen for miles. It is rich in history and amazing architecture but our visit was fairly brief and it was freezing!  Another monastery lies below it.
