Like A Duck To Multicoloured Water

Today started with another early morning run. There was a very soft autumnal light and although the sky was overcast it really seemed to bring up the different hues of colour in the fallen leaves that carpeted parts of my route.
On the second half of my run through a small wood two dogs came gamboling towards me - one was a large Alsatian and the other was a tiny dog of indeterminate breed but the contrast between the two really made me smile. They were very well behaved but just seemed to be so happy to be out in the fresh air and I even got a cheery "Good Morning" from their owner.
Run completed and breakfast consumed I needed to do some food (and wine) shopping but decided to take a circuitous route via Maidstone to stop and see if I could get a shot for today.
I parked next to All Saints' Church and walked down to the River Medway and across the footbridge to the other bank as the aforementioned soft light was casting fabulous reflections in the water. Today's main image is of a duck navigating it's way through the reflections cast by a nearby river boat called The Kentish Lady.
My first extra is the view across to the other side of the riverbank where part of the Archbishops' Palace complex is currently under repair. I just liked the patterns of the windows, stonework and scaffolding.
My second extra is of one of several swans that swam across towards me assuming I was going to be the bearer of some food instead of a camera. I was just focusing on the white swan when this cygnet decided he wanted to do some photobombing!
