Winchester Cathedral

Today we cycled to ukulele class  in drizzle, but fortunately the rain had eased by the time we came to return home via the Close. This is a view of the west end of the cathedral from the avenue of lime trees. The railings are bedecked with scores of knitted red poppies in anticipation of  Remembrance services taking place later this week. 

While in town we visited the  Charity Christmas cards shop and made some purchases- our first acknowledgment that Christmas is not that far away.
