Knock Three Times

My right arm is becoming more and more like a pincushion as, so far this year, I have had a flu jab, a pneumonia jab and two covid jabs. And today was the day for my third - booster - covid jab. Once again, nothing but praise for the set up in Kendal. Had my text inviting me to book an appointment on Friday night, and by 9.45 this morning I’d been jabbed and was waiting the recommended 15 minutes before leaving. Didn’t have to wait after the first two, but I’m told it’s because there is more chance of a reaction to the Pfizer vaccine. So far, so good as regards side effects - specifically, lack thereof - and I’m hoping it remains that way. My arm is aching a bit, but I think that’s more down to the exertions of yesterday’s PT session!
Finally managed to shift the old curtain poles this afternoon. I’d put them on the FB Sell & Seek site a week ago and had someone after them almost straight away. Unfortunately the times he wanted to pick them up were always times when I was out! I’d thought he’d given up but had a message this morning - could he collect now? Well, yes, but he’d have to wait until I got home from being jabbed. Fortunately, that suited him and two long curtain poles have now exited our house and are hopefully being repurposed. I always prefer to “recycle” rather than just chuck things away, especially if there’s nothing wrong with them other than they don’t go with the new decor.
Talking of which, when I went to fit the bedroom light switch to the newly painted wall, I noticed there was a bit of a blemish that wouldn’t quite be covered by the new switch. Long story short, I ended up rubbing down a couple of square feet of pristine paintwork! First coat applied just before lunch and I’m hoping it’ll be dry enough by teatime to put a second coat on. And then I just have to pray that when it all dries, it blends in to the rest of the wall. Because if it doesn’t, I’ll have to go grovelling to the decorators. Or leave home…
