Goal!
Long day out today. The M6 was a chuffing nightmare, and it took me 6 hours to travel the 255 miles to Rochdale. Turns out that not all of the traffic was heading to the game, but nonetheless there was a splendid turnout of 288 fans who travelled from Hampshire.
I really enjoyed the game. I think we were the better side by a long way except for a 15 minute spell at the beginning of the second half (when Rochdale scored). We came back strongly, and Mekki in particular really unsettled their defence when he came on as a second half substitute. This is him turning through 3 defenders to score our equaliser.
Shots fans were immense today. For a team that is bottom of the league and looking odds on for relegation, we didn't stop singing for the whole match. Well done Lads, you did the team proud. And the team responded with 100% effort
Now we look forward to Oxford on Bank Holiday monday, where we need to start winning some points if we are going to pull of what would be a minor miracle.
Come on the Shots :-)
Have to say that I really love Rochdale's ground. It's a proper football ground set in the middle of the town. It's the perfect size for the number of supporters that they get, and looks .... right
