Diary of an Edinburgher

Disappointing…

Instead of reading the papers and listening to the radio as I usually do, I listened to my new book this morning. It’s great the way you can sync between your phone, iPad and Audible. I do like the audible version, because then I can’t see that this chap - and it seems to be a new trend - doesn’t bother with speech marks and general punctuation. Why not??

Today we went to lunch with Christine and Dougal. Archie was not invited because he’s a grump, and he’s not very patient with bouncy young Dougal, who was so good in the restaurant, just lay down under the seat. He may not be so bouncy later this week, as he’s going for the snip on Tuesday…

However, Archie had been invited round to visit his friend Pip, to bark along with Pip at Pip’s postman. In fact, four deliveries were expected, so I’m sure it wasn’t the most peaceful afternoon for Aby to get her work done.

We went to the new Henderson’s - we’ve been meaning to go for some time. But I think we chose the wrong things, as neither JR or I were impressed with our main course - a tasteless vegetarian lasagne, with tasteless vegan ‘cheese’ on top, though Christine enjoyed her salads. Won’t be rushing back.

We spent much of the day to-ing and fro-ing with Hazel and the company who are organising our French holiday. A few changes are being made to make it even better. I think we have it now. Good to have a tour leader (Hazel) who is doing all the organising.

While JR took Archie out for a long walk in the afternoon, I listened to more of my book when I came home, but unfortunately I fell asleep, so I’ve re-read some bits several times now.
