Remembrance 4

Today’s main photo is another one from yesterday. Straight after first Poppy Laying it was home to change into warmer clothing before setting off to Penzance for the Cornish Pirates rugby match, picking up two mates on the way.
Not for the rugby, although that was a bonus, I’d volunteered to lead a team of ten to collect for the Poppy Appeal at the match. In the end only four of us pitched up and we were loaned a Royal Marine who plays full time for the Pirates to make up the numbers.
Another great day, the sun shone, the Pirates thumped Coventry and the crowd were incredibly generous in donating.
There is an official photograph of us taken on the pitch prior to kick off but I am unable to use it until the Pirates release it as part of the official press release.

Home after dropping off the two friends, a really quick change and out of the door to Redruth for their RNA ‘Pickle Night’, beer, rum, a pasty and good company, the perfect end to a busy day.
