Between fen and mountains

Repairing the damage

We received an email asking us to help at a friends’ house. The wild boar had been rampant and torn up a strip of grass on the property thirty metres long by two metres wide. As our friends were returning from the UK, it would have been such a depressing sight. The wild boar cause extensive damage to gardens on more remote properties and to farmers’ crops. The weekly hunt serves the purpose of keeping the numbers down to manageable levels but the boar still cause considerable damage.
Twelve of us, therefore, set to replacing all the sods as best as possible stamping them back into place. It took us all morning but it looked better by the time we had finished.
