Knitting, Cake and Monty Don
It was a wet start to the day and quite cold too. I hadn’t planned to be outdoors but when Frank said he was nipping to Gargrave to pick up a boiler suit someone was giving away free, I couldn’t resist getting dropped of at the garden centre!
I got some more spring bulbs, some button daisies and some wallflowers
plus some horticultural grit, some lime granules and 3 bags of compost.
After lunch Frank went to play music with his friends. It was still raining and cold so I lit the stove, did did some knitting and had coffee and cake whilst watching Gardener’s World. I rarely watch TV in the daytime but I wanted to watch an episode I’d seen before about planting bulbs. I’ve planted bulbs loads of times but he’d recommended the lime and grit for tulips so I wanted to know quantities. (Bella is yawning on the photo:-)
Anyway after I’d watched it I noticed the rain had stopped so out I went and got stuck in! I was out there for 3 hours and tidied up the garden then planted the bulbs like Monty had said. Tulips with wallflowers. Narcissi with grape hyacthinths. Irises with mini daffs. Then planted more pansies and dug up the geraniums to put in the cellar.
I can’t wait for Spring! Mind you I want to enjoy Autumn and Winter first!
Thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts for the ‘feather spider’ Blip!
Sabrina and I were still laughing about it when she phoned this morning
:-D)))
I have to do my Inktober drawing now.
Then more knitting, part 2 of The Long Call (written by Ann Cleaves) then book and bedtime! I’m loving The Girl with the Louding Voice.
Goodnight Blippy friends! :-DX
