Aaaaargh!
Sabrina phoned me this morning in a total panic. She was doing the house up for Hallowe’en and had got the box of decorations out of the loft.
She hung some of that fake cobweb stuff on a picture frame above the dining table then saw the long black legs.
‘Oh, Mum! The legs are moving it’s absolutely massive! I can’t put it out!’
After a while she got brave and tentatively looked inside the box - which also had a number of very convincing fake spiders - she got some long kitchen tongs and pulled some more fake webs out. All whilst still on the phone to me!
‘Aaaargh! Mum there’s something black in this bit - it looks like a cocoon or something! I’ll throw a box on top and leave it for when John comes home!’
She ended up phoning John and asked him to come home in his lunch hour. You can imagine his reply! :-D
All my suggestions of a large glass and a piece of card, or the hearth brush and a deep box with a lid or just dragging the box outside to the garden were to no avail.
She ended up going across the road to her elderly neighbour Bob and told him about this big brute in her house.
Bob came over, stood on a chair and pulled out of the webbing 2 black feathers! Then he lifted the red box from the other webbing where the ‘cocoon’ was and pulled out a piece of black felt!
Sabrina and her neighbours had a good laugh. A good job Johnnie didn’t drive home in his lunch hour!
I didn’t bring her up to be a big wuss! :-D)))
I wouldn’t mind but I ended up looking on line for UK’s largest spiders!
The rest of my day was spent drawing for Inktober and baking a vegan Bakewell Tart. It is delicious! Bang goes my diet!

I tried twice to go outside to plant bulbs and pansies but each time the heavens opened then as soon as I put everything away the sky was bright blue. In the end I refused to go out even when the sun shone! The weather is not going to mess me about!
I saw the bus go past today and everyone was wearing masks.
Now it’s time for knitting and maybe a film.
Goodnight Blippers. :-DX
