After the rain
Thanks to the fact that it has rained almost nonstop for a few days and that the temperature has dropped considerably, I had the unusual opportunity to take a close look at a southern hawker dragonfly that had sought shelter under big leaves. The hawker didn't move while I manouvred my camera and took photos with the flash (the conditions were very low light) but when I blew air softly on it, it showed signs of life. My instant feeling was of protection, I wanted to take it home and keep it warm and safe, but then good sense returned to me and I just wished it all the best and left it there, clinging to the branch. Tomorrow the sun should be shining and he will be happily flying around.
