Achoo
Sunny and mild, a perfect fall day. Hubby got up early and went shopping. I followed close behind and started our last load of laundry. My sister and BIL stopped by with a lovely wreath, bows and an ornament that is perfect for Kristen’s gift. I will tweak it when I return from camping. That saved me a bundle. Once the meat thawed, I made the shepherd’s pie and had enough to share with my son’s family. Cooked and divided the chicken for the tortilla soup and made chicken salad with the rest. Decided to try adding Mandarin oranges with the cranberries for the scones. Had to add extra flour and sugar because the dough was too moist. But the finished biscuits are delicious. My legs were really aching and my belly was a bit upset so I have taken a break. Hopefully, it is just from my daughter’s extra rich soup we had at lunch. Still have to cook bacon and make something with the apples that are getting soft. Hubby worked on moving more stuff to the camper, vacuumed the house and has gone to Mass. I will go tomorrow if I am feeling better. Kim and Jamie stopped by to gather stuff I have collected for them and to get decorating gourds my sister grew. It’s been a busy but mostly pleasant day. This goldenrod wants to take over the garden around the gazebo. I thought I had pulled it all out but the roots are so widespread that I missed a few. The leaves look like my tall phlox plants so I wait for signs of buds. Truthfully though, they are a beautiful sight against the brilliant blue sky. Glad I still have some. Thanks for dropping by with stars and comments. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. We may not have cell service or Internet at the campground. It is in quite a rural area I believe.
