While we were away in Scotland we noticed that one set of overhead cupboards in the van was coming loose. On inspection there was 1 screw in a 2m length and even that seemed to be screwed into thin air.
We have only ever put light things in these cupboards but think the vibrations caused by traveling over bumpy roads has caused the whole unit to slip down.
This morning I visited two motorhome garages whose mechanics both took a sharp intake of air whilst shaking their heads.
The above mentioned screw (about 2" in length)was taken out and deemed to be as useful as a chocolate oven glove.
Apparently the whole unit is being kept sort of in place by screws into the adjacent microwave housing at one end.
Phone calls and emails have followed to both the garage where we bought the van but also to Auto-Sleeper whose bad customer service is legendary.
With only a few weeks left on the warranty we are obviously keen to get it repaired.
This will probably mean taking off the cupboards, the wall and roof lining material before they even start. ££££££'s I'm thinking!
We had quite a lot of rain last night after a long dry spell so it was unusual to see puddles as we walked across the common this afternoon
