One street, our street #7 - Grey!
The work has finally finished on the fence and gate across the road. The lovely old brick driveway itself wasn't renewed during the work, which is the good news. The bad thing is that it is so very dull, grey and gloomy looking.
We think they did this to comply with some new laws concerning the fencing of swimming pools, plus I think their small dogs got out on a couple of occasions. I can't see any dog getting through these prison gates in a hurry!
As it happens it's a grey day today altogether, so we are in recovery mode after our hectic weekend.
More GREY.
You can see my last entry in the One Street series of blips on 26th February when I blipped the guy on the jack hammer, digging a channel across the driveway. Some of you asked to see the finished job, so here it is.
This property goes back to 1848 when the Travellers Rest Inn was built on this site by Gottfried Koll. At the back of the Inn he built stables. The original Inn is long gone, but the stables have been preserved, and the roof of the stables can be seen in the top right of the photo.
Maybe I can get a better blip of the former stables one day in the future.
