Alligator cactus flower
Today I felt it was time for a macro and we have this tiny yellow alligator cactus flower by the back door. I know the flower will not last long, so it was today or next year!
This cactus is a member of the plant family Cactaceae. The word "cactus" derives, through Latin, from the Ancient Greek, and is a name originally used for a spiny plant whose identity is not certain. Based on the name alone, the cactus is an ancient plant.
More yellow.
