2021 Sunday — Ashly’s Birthday Today

Good Sunday morning! This photo is the very early — 7:15 — morning celebration at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills in Southern California. Since Pastor Jack re-opened the church the last Sunday in May 2020, the huge sanctuary/auditorium is packed for three celebrations every Sunday morning. We attend by watching online each Sunday because we are usually several hundred miles north on California’s Central Coast.

Today is our oldest grandkid’s birthday. When she was born 33 years ago today, our lives were changed with considerably more than the title “grandparent.” Ashly (without an e) has been and is a delight.

This has not been a good birthday for her because her little boy, RJ, came home from preschool/daycare Friday afternoon with a runny nose and congestion. He just started attending two days a week the end of August. Ashly said it is the first time he has been sick. Now she is also getting sick with a sinus head cold. All birthday celebrating has been postponed till later.
