COVID? - What Covid?

Apparently the cases of COVID in St Ives are really high. There's a sign about 4 miles out of town warning people that they are entering a COVID hotspot. 'Stay safe, wash hands, wear masks', etc. etc. etc. Does anyone take any notice? Of course they don't. The visitors are still piling into St Ives and the town is busier in September than Ann has ever known it.

Is Ann worried? No she's not.

Yes, it's mega busy here, but Ann (like the majority of holidaymakers) has come from a big city where thousands of people are crowded together. For example, the buses in Edinburgh hold up to 150 people and are pretty much as busy as they were before first lockdown.

….........So walking through a few narrow, crowded, streets outdoors doesn't really seem like too much of a problem to her.

As far as my human is concerned, life is pretty much back to normal here. There hasn't been one single thing that she's wanted to do in St Ives that she hasn't been able to.

…....................She doesn't even have to wear a mask if she doesn't want to.

The difference between living in the capital city of Scotland and a small seaside town in the South West of England is VAST!!! MASSIVE!! ENORMOUS!!!

Obviously this Pandemic could never, ever, have been predicted but as a single person in lock down even with me, the most gorgeous well behaved little collie in the world her life/mental health would have been so much different if we'd been locked down in St Ives.

Anyway enough RANTING.......................

This is a photo of me on the beach beside the 'Foodie Festival'. It was first thing in the morning and it was just being set up for three days of eating and drinking. Apparently Ann is going tomorrow and I'm going to have to stay home alone.

And the 'September Festival' is also on.

…................As we say..................... Life is 'normal' here.

COVID????? It's not going to go away so we all just need to learn to live with it. …................More people are dying of cancer and flu now. And apparently it's going to take the NHS 10 years to catch up with all the missed appointments/operations.

….........................Surely after 18 months, it's time for us all just to get on with our lives??????????????????????????
