Taking it easy

After yesterday's big long walk; today Ann said we were going to take it easy. We went to bed at 9.30pm last night and didn't get up until 8am this morning. That was a long sleep for both of us, but to be honest, Ann woke up feeling a bit achy..

Anyway, after a 40 min trek around the streets on my lead, and breakfast, we settled ourselves on our very sunny balcony to wait for the 'NHS Spitfire fly past' at 10.10am. Mmmmmm.................... best laid plans and all that......................... It would appear that the 'NHS Spitfire fly past' flew past at the other side of our building so we didn't see them. Booooohoooo.

After that, Ann went off to the supermarket and I had more snooze time. And when she came back we sat on the balcony again. Fabulous weather in Edinburgh today. It's been like a summer's day. Yay! Ann definitely feels happier when the sun is shining. …............And she's got three 'Meet & Greets' to do over the weekend, we're going to my friend, Bertie's for dinner tomorrow night, and on Saturday we have a friend coming for dinner, so it's not like we're totally devoid of all human contact?!!

This afternoon we went in the car to Colinton Mains Park because Ann didn't have the energy to walk very far so that I could play with my ball. I ran non-stop after my ball for about half an hour. Actually that's a bit of a lie. I got really hot so one time when I got the ball I went racing off through the open front door of one of the houses that border the park. I zoomed into the living room and a black dog went mad at me and chased me into a corner and started barking at me. Obviously Ann didn't want to walk into a strangers house uninvited but fortunately the owner shouted out, 'Come in and help me'. It was a bit scary. I was cowering in the corner and the black dog was standing guard over me. Fortunately his owner managed to pull him away, so Ann got hold of me, apologised profusely and off we went?!!!!! And then the next time I got the ball I disappeared through all the undergrowth surrounding the burn and went for a bit of a cool down and didn't come out for ages. Sometimes it's really stressful owning a little collie pup like me. Ann's words not mine!!!

When we got home I just flopped into my bed for another snooze. I'm still in my bed snoozing. (See extras.)

…....................And Ann's still feeling a bit achy??!! Perhaps a glass of wine on our balcony will help? It's such a beautiful evening.

See you all tomorrow. Toodles. xxx
