Red Letter Day

Today was a bit special. It was our first Fungus Group field meeting since January 2020. We had a really good turnout and great weather, but the absolute highlight - everyone agreed - was finding this spectacular Devil's Fingers fungus (Clathrus archeri). It had been reported from this location a couple of times in the past, but when I took the group there today I didn't dare hope it would be fruiting!
