Diary of an Edinburgher

Porty!

A slight haar this morning, but by the time JR was home from the gym, it had lifted, and so we decided to go to the beach, as we haven’t been for ages.(Extra)

And it was glorious! Not even a breeze down at the water’s edge. Silly Archie tried to drink the water - will he ever learn? A liver muffin was purchased first - Archie goes crazy for them! As do most other dogs who come within sniffing distance. JR was harassed by a very persistent big hungry labrador, and she eventually had to be put on her lead (the dog, not JR).

The others walked along a bit further, but I sat on one of the groynes and just enjoyed being there. There were plenty of swimmers - none in wetsuits, or even wooly hats! There was a hoard (flock?) of wee terns excitedly dive-bombing into the sea only yards from the beach. I stood and watched them from the water’s edge for ages. They were like little missiles, splashing into the waves for a second or two and bobbing back up and off.

On the way back we had coffee - they do a very good flat white at the Crumbs caravan. And we resisted the equally good bacon baps. It’s always fun to sit and watch the parade of humanity (and dogs) passing by. Archie wasn’t sick either way in the car.

JR casually mentioned that she’d got the suitcases out… I’d forgotten we’re off on a jaunt tomorrow! Of course, I knew we were going on an imminent jaunt, I just didn’t realise it was quite so soon. The days just merge together when you’re retired…

Some nice new vibrant street art at Porty - hope it lasts without yobbos spoiling it.
