WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Doing my bit…

…for the environment.
I’ve been meaning to get one of these bags for ages.
I was ordering a new winter waterproof coat from SEASALT and saw the washing bag. I had a money off code so thought I’d get the bag while I was at it. I do always think about the man made fibres that come off clothes when I wash them and where they’ll end up. Some modern washing machines have special filters in them to trap these micro fibres but ours elderly one doesn’t.
The coat is excellent too - I love their stuff. The Winter one I have now is also from there and I’ve had it for about 7 years but now the cuffs have started to fray. It will still be good for bad weather on the boat.

I had planned on having a knitting day but other things got in the way, like pottering round the garden, phoning North Yorks council about my bus pass which I still don’t have. I tried to fill in the on line form to apply for it ages ago but it wouldn’t accept my postcode. I emailed them at the time and got a reply saying they would be in touch within 3 days. That never happened! Anyway the man I spoke to was very apologetic and helpful and told me to send all the details + photo + proof of ID either by post or email.
I got that all done eventually so fingers crossed!

Frank is pleased because the new neighbour across the road is a piano teacher and although he has been teaching himself - and is doing quite well - he would like some formal lessons so he starts that next week.

I had a little tap practice yesterday and today. Frank found me a board in the cellar but I need a bigger one so he’ll get me some plywood.
I just wish I could remember what I learnt on Wednesday!

We had thunder and lightning last night, some really loud cracks. Bella doesn’t seem too bothered by that unlike when there are fireworks.

I’m going to knit a few rows now!

Have a good weekend folks :-)x
