Helena enters the gateway to the orchard
After a night in the Black Swan we visited the National Trust's Acorn Bank which is a tranquil haven known for its large herb collection and traditional fruit orchard.
A few minutes later as as walked round the garden a massive flight of hundreds of geese flying in three separate V-formations flew very low over the tree tops. The noise was something to behold. They were honking as they approached, flew over and then away into the distance. A marvel of nature.
It was a soothing way to spend the morning before the next stage of our trip north to the Highlands.
I'm back blipping and short of time, so I'm being brief in descriptions.
