Bowood (Tuesday 7th September 2021)

The Old Forge has thick stone walls and small windows so stays quite cool most of the time, so when the thermometer said it was 28 degrees in the shade I didn't really believe it.
I did, though, when I got out of the car in the car park at Bowood, and had to abandon my walk up to the lake part way round and instead headed for a path in the opposite direction which offered shade as it led through woods and fern-lined hedges, and where I blipped these wildflowers, including this white morning glory peeping out.
When I got back I found some shade among some bench-tables and spent an hour or so reading there in front of the Treehouse Café.

"Ipomoea lacunosa, the whitestar, white morning-glory or pitted morningglory, is a species that belongs to the genus Ipomoea. In this genus most members are commonly referred to as "morning glories".
