Remember To Look At The Sky

Unlike yesterday, today I had a few photos to choose from. I had a couple that I really liked and a good few more that I would have been to choose as my photo of the day. I woke up pretty early this morning, but took a while to get going. When I was ready to head out, I wrapped up to protect me from the elements, grabbed my camera and set off to do my chores and in pursuit of a photo opportunity or two. I hadn't been to the Botanics in ages; I'm almost certain I haven't been this year in fact, so I decided to head there. The park was almost empty, but I did spot a man in shorts, yes shorts. I know it's supposed to be Spring, but there is snow on the ground!

When I got there, I headed into the Kibble Palace. I love it in there and like to watch the Koi, not that they do much but they are really beautiful. There was a sign up on the railings beside their pond asking visitors not to feed them as some had died as a result of eating things people had thrown in. I tried to imagine what people might have fed them that would have that effect. Then, I remembered the Glaswegian diet! I jest of course; no self-respecting inhabitant of Glasgow would waste their chips (or worse) on a bunch of fish.

This photo shows the domed roof of the Kibble Palace and I think it's rather beautiful. I like how the snow filled sky makes the lines between the glass stand out. I always try to remember to look up as well as around when I'm searching for photos. Too many people forget to look at the sky.

I took lots of other photos as I said, including the one of the 'Secret Staircase' (as I like to call it), in the greenhouses and another of dinosaur eggs. If only we could get them to hatch. Where's John Hammond when you need him?
