Loved Always
Sue Green, whoever you are, you are very loved.
Today, I had to make sure that I got my photo early on. I'm meeting my friend later this afternoon and I'm not too sure when I'll be back in. Anyway, I went up to Glasgow University planning to get a photo looking down over the city, but I spotted this bench and decided it would make a lovely photo. I'm sure I've photographed it before in fact, but that time I took a photo of only the words 'Loved Always' which, on reflection, feels a bit wrong. Indeed, there are many people out there who I will love always, but this bench isn't for just anyone, or any of my people for that matter. It's for Sue Green, whoever she is.
When I read the inscription, the thing that struck me most, aside from the obvious love that whoever had the bench made, felt for her was that she would the same age as my big sister were she still alive. It was an odd feeling. In the last ten or so years, my sister has met the man she is soon to marry, has moved to Liverpool, set up home there and is lucky enough to be doing a job that she loves. She's driven me wild many times over those years of course, but spotting things like this remind me how lucky I am to have her, and indeed all the other wonderful people, in my life.
People are amazing and life is fragile. Get out there and make the most of it.
