Video Killed the Radio Star

And video was killed off by DVDs. And they’re only just hanging on now we’ve got YouTube and digital downloads. All of which means that these old videos are basically rubbish. I do still have a VCR somewhere, but I don’t have the slightest interest in going to the faff of finding it and connecting it to the telly, only to watch something that is - by today’s HD and 4K standards - of a very poor quality.
However, these 30 tapes probably represent an investment of around two hundred quid, back in the day, and it goes against the grain just to tip them in to the bin. I’d rather give them away so that someone else can enjoy them (I did try asking £2 for the lot at the car boot sale on Sunday, but had absolutely no takers!!)
But even trying to give them away has proved to be a load of hassle. Within minutes of them being posted on the FB Sell and Seek site I had three people wanting them. I replied to them all that it was first come, first served. No further response from any of them! And then I got a message asking for just three of the Red Dwarf ones, and would I be prepared to post them as he lives nowhere near. Er, no!
It’s not bin day until Saturday this week so there’s still a chance if anyone wants them. But I need the space, and the unexpected aggro of trying to give them away has dispelled any romantic ideas of passing them on to someone else to enjoy, so they will definitely be leaving the house one way or another.
And the fact that this is all I could come up with for a blip, tells you what an uneventful day it’s been today. Mrs C had a migraine and I was just feeling generally lethargic, so we’ve not been anywhere or done anything interesting. I think tomorrow is going to be a lot more full on though. Maybe not such a bad thing having a day of rest today.
