Through the Window

This picture isn’t overexposed…it’s smoky and hot outside! A little breeze has come up which may blow some of it away. Air quality is supposed to improve tomorrow.

I took this picture through the window which was finally installed this morning. Alex, the installer apologized so many times that I finally had to tell him to stop, I knew it wasn’t his fault! He brought his son with him and they had the whole thing replaced and cleaned in an hour. I was wrangling the dogs when they left but John said they didn’t charge anything for their labor. He protested but they insisted.

Delays are the name of the game these days. Part of me hopes that we paid for the chairs when we ordered them 6 months ago because the prices have gone up even more since then. But part of me hopes we didn’t in case we decide to give up on them or buy them elsewhere. The latter doesn’t look very promising according to my brief foray on line. Lots of places have them on their website but become very vague about when they can even be shipped, much less delivered.

What I did learn, for whatever it’s worth, is that these are the same chairs that are found in parks in Paris. (They’re made in France). This in answer to the question, ‘why are these chairs so expensive?

I made another batch of tomato sauce today. The plants are winding down now but still have one more batch of tomato sauce in them, I think. The basil is busting out of its cage (protection from birds and ground squirrels) and I was going go make a big batch of pesto but found I had no pine nuts m, or nuts of any kind and neither of us had any interest in going to the store. It’s been that kind of a day….
