Flower Friday. : : Cafe Frida

Our Friday coffee group meets here and 'our' table is always there waiting for us. It is such a pleasant place to sit, even this morning when we could see the air, and the sun was a red orb shining trying to shine through the smoke. We all have the Purple Air app on our phones which is a citizen science project which places air quality sensors in homes and backyards to provide a real time air quality index. At coffee the AQI was 55 (moderate). the talk was about shortages and the fact that one or two people we know have predicted a very wet winter, possibly starting as early as September. It would be wonderful if it really happens, but I'm not holding my breath.

Now it is 159 and hot, which is listed as 'unhealthy'.  I don't need an app to tell me to stay indoors. I spent ten minutes harvesting tomatoes and green beans. There were more to be picked, but I had had enough.

Even Spike doesn't seem too interested in chasing his Kong...see extra.

The Culligan man came to do whatever he does with our water softener. He was late because he said he had to deliver water to the Santa Rosa Marathon. I can't imagine who would be willing to run a marathon in these condition, but there are so many inexplicable things happening these days that I don't even try to make sense of them. Late deliveries, sometimes months and months late are standard and everyone we talk to is affected by this disruption in the supply chain.

The window guy is coming tomorrow to replace our window which broke when he was installing it because it wasn't tempered glass, though it was supposed to be. I honestly can't remember when that was, but we had waited a long time for that piece of glass and have waited an equally long time for the replacement.

We've given up on our Fermob chairs ordered in February. I looked online today to see if anyone had them in stock, having learned to read between the lines when it comes to delivery dates, and came to the conclusion that somewhere there is a container full of cactus colored Luxembourg side chairs but nobody seems to know where it is.
