Upsidedown You’re Turning me

Wow. That was a day and a half.

I didnt' sleep well last night - The after effects of a crappy night sleep the night before caused by my own abuse.

So we got up - did our shopping; put it away, had a cup of tea.   Then we went back into Town picked up a grater and tomato feed, and headed to the allotment.

At the Allotment - we checked for mice - two tails no bodies.  One Corn attacked.  I pulled all the seeded lettuce, corriander and rocket.  I planted 20 caulis.  I planted 40 Leeks,  I picked 450 grams of French beans.    I also opened the compost bin and covered myself in what I hope was condensation, but it smelt like compost. ... And caused me to scream and run for the water tanks whereby I hosed myself down, with equally filthy spring water.

Then we came home - had another cuppa, and Himself started on the electrical movement.   While he did that, I chopped and froze the beans; chopped and froze the few corn we tested today.  Bagged the onions.

We are getting a new boiler - and it means that one of our cupboards needs to come down.  Cupboard down, plugs moved... I washed the doors, and the cupboards, top and bottom, hot, hot soapy water, and then cleaned the glass shelves and the door panels.

Wow   They looked amazing.

Cupboard up. Electrics Back on.

No.

Plug off, test wiring.   Plug back on. Electrics switched. No.

Plug off, cable off, Test Cable, Cable on, Plug on, Switch on. No

Plug off, cable off, next plug off.  Test Plug, PLug on, Cable on, Plug on, Electric on. No.

So the two of us sat there and contemplated what he had done.  What we had checked.

We tested other circuits.  Okay.

Decided the only thing we hadn't checked  - the actual socket.

Up to the attic.  Got a new socket (he has a shop's worth of plugs / switches/ wire  / screws etc.  up there) . Put the new socket on  - Electric on. All worked.

Then we had to tidy the mess.   And oh god what a mess.

And then, I had a survey to complete - after all the testing products I had.

And Then Boy and Jess called.  Himself was in the shower - I chatted to them for thirty minutes, and then Si came down, and we call chatted.

They lost their jobs this week. China's crack down on over education of Children has meant that they have no work now.  The source of income which has  funded their travel for two years in gone in a flash.

They aren't too worried - it's just a new adventure.     Jess is looking at on-line work.   Boy has already sold a piece of writing with a promise of consideration of another piece.  I have told him again to write his book.

Si continued to chat to them, and I headed for the shower.

They were still chatting when I came out the shower.

It had taken us all afternoon to fix the electrics.   So instead of cooking - we headed for the Indian.

Then I baked a cake for my work mate - She had an operation a couple of weeks ago - and her scar is infected now.   I've bought her a gift and  I wanted to bake her her faourite cake.  (Ii had hoped to get it cooked this afternoon and get it over to her, but circumstances prevented that.

And then I filled in the survey - 30 questions about the cat food itself.  Heavens.

And now - Am having a cuppa tea, and then I am heading to bed.
