A subject to paint

It has been another very hot day but tomorrow promises to be much cooler thankfully. It is a reasonably cool walk to this abandoned bandstand on a site at the top of the village where the valley narrows. I thought it might make a subject for painting at tomorrow’s art group. I took the service this morning and shared some thoughts on the topic, “Would you rather be clever or wise? Discuss!” A couple of people came up to me afterwards and said they enjoyed the sermon, including one of our congregation who is a minister on holiday. I’m very inexperienced at leading a service so that gave me some encouragement.
