Train crew conference

The driver, fireman and guard discuss the instruction I’d given for the driver to contact Rolvenden loco depot. I’d had a call asking me to speak to the driver on the platform. It turned out that it wasn’t anything vitally important.

Much better day at Wittersham Road, none of the drama of last Saturday when we had to rescue a train as the engine was running out of water.

A lovely warm day, a little breeze, hot in the box. There was a buzzard around all day, flying low, perching and mewing. One or two people on the platform watching and somebody actually got on the train.
