Falterona

Drove up into the hills and did a 1300ft direct ascent to get to the top of Monte Falterona (1654m). A hefty climb through beech forest in a remote setting - just one group encountered on the path. Much cooler than down at the house but dripping with sweat nonetheless.

There is something about the silence of forests that it almost otherworldly.
