Small Tortoiseshell

After a slow, relaxed start to the day we decided to head out to the little village of Kettlethorpe as it has an interesting church to take photos of. There were some public footpaths through the countryside which we walked too. I declared that the hedgerows beside the paths were "Butterfly City" - there were so many! Most didn't settle of course! I managed shots of this small tortoiseshell. and a small skipper too, but we also saw wall browns and gatekeepers galore, small and large whites also.

Before I had chance to take photos of the church my battery died and the spare was flat too. I must be more efficient with batteries in future!

We came home, had lunch and whilst washing up afterwards I managed to drop a mug on my foot! The mug bounced on the floor but fortunately didn't break. My toes really hurt though and will probably bruise!
