Birthday Book Bonanza

Yesterday I mentioned that I'd knocked a mug onto my foot whilst washing up. The mug in question is in this shot, now full of coffee - it is a favourite due to slightly larger capacity and feline theme!

My foot came out of the incident slightly worse. It did not feel too bad to begin with - I'd managed a walk to the Co-op and back! But it got steadily worse, and by bed-time I was in agony with it. I had to have a painkiller so I could go to sleep, and it was no better this morning.

I daren't risk going to my Dad's - the journey takes around an hour each way, only around 14 minutes of which is by train! He was disappointed I wasn't going but it's not the disaster it would have been last week. I've rested my foot all day and it is feeling better than it was if not yet properly right.

We are still going to do Tesco tonight but Bri will come and pick me up rather than me walking up there. I can walk around the shop, leaning on the trolley if need be, and see how it goes. If I can make it over to Metheringham tomorrow I will!

Also this morning, I woke up with a migraine. It had taken hold while I was asleep, so Migraleve and breakfast first thing. It has more or less gone now too, leaving me in the numb, dozy, foggy Postdrome stage.

Not much has been accomplished today, and I have an At Home Blip! With the exception of the two books on top of this pile, these are the books* I got for my birthday from Brian and the kids - they know me so well! Someone else wanted in on the act too, as you can see!

The top two books were bought on Saturday - Metheringham community library was selling off some excess books and I snapped these up for the grand sum of 50p!

* Doh!! Just realised the one I am currently reading is not on this pile! Can't you tell I'm not properly with-it!!
