Park Run Is Back!

It was good to get back to Park Run this morning after a 16 month hiatus due to Covid. Fortunately , the hot weather broke overnight and conditions were much fresher for the 163 runners and walkers who turned out.

Kate & Sophie drove over to join us. Kate's plan was for her & Sophie to do just one of the three laps but Sophie was enjoying it and ended up completing all 5k in just over 45 minutes. The blip is of her making a dash for the finishing line with Kate in hot pursuit. Tess & I were pleased (or relieved, to be more accurate!) to finish and in faster times than we expected.

When we got back we had to put the gazebo, which had slipped its moorings and turned turtle in the windy conditions overnight, back upright and replace.the broken guy ropes.

After that, it's been a day of shopping and recovering from this morning's exertions: it's definitely tougher running on grass than roads!
